Here's a quick summary of our annual "Dickens of a Day" event: After days of uncertainty with the weather forecast we were very fortunate to have a beautiful day. Collectors began arrive at 4:45 a.m.!
As you can see by the lines we had a lot of collectors anxiously waiting for the opportunity to purchase our very limited edition made exclusively for us "The Flower Girl and the Ring Bearer." | Anxiously Waiting

Finally There!
 |
Promptly at 8:30 a.m. the collectors were allowed to purchase their Carolers. In addition to our special pair we had hundreds of Carolers to choose from. Collectors were thrilled with the children with apples, girl with teddy bear, boys with wagons and the Grandparent shoppers. The Grandparent shoppers being rather robust and him with his real fur beard were among the most popular of the day. |
| Listen my collectors and you shall hear…..Bob kept everyone thrilled with the stories he had to share about the Carolers and the auction pieces. Joining Bob center stage was the lady from Plymouth Plantation. My, oh my, did the collectors hang on to every word she had to say. She spoke as though she was actually in that time frame of the early settlers. Very interesting to say the least. | Bob Watson and his Seminar

The Happy Winner
Before the start of our annual auction we drew names for the many winners of the day. To say that this collector was delighted to have won the display Santa in Sleigh would be an understatement. The auction went off without a hitch this year. Bidding was brisk. One very excited bidder waved his hand in the back of the room with his hand spread out. The auctioneer (Rob) was saying "do I hear $100.00 to start the bidding". All the while this collector was waving his hand. Finally Rob said "are you waving or what is it?" The excited bidder stated "no, I want to start the bidding at $500.00." The pair (schoolteacher and man to match) he was bidding for sold at $1,250.00. There were a few very exciting pieces that went home with very happy collectors. |
| All in all it was a very exciting and happy day spent with fellow collectors. They are already talking about the event for next year with much enthusiasm. |
| Below please find results of our auction We wish to thank all of you who attended our annual Byers' Choice event. It was a huge success with lots of collectors spending the entire day at Wayside. The limited edition Flower Girl and Ring Bearer were of course the hit of the day. We had limited the purchase of the pair to one per family to give everyone that attended the chance to purchase a pair. We did this to hopefully have a few pairs left for you, our e-mail customers. We are pleased to announce that we have a very limited supply left for anyone that wishes a pair or an additional pair for a gift (<--- SOLD OUT AS OF NOV. 99). The limited edition of 30 "Our Wedding day" sets, which includes the Flower Girl and Ring bearer are all soldout. |

Our auction went extremely well. It was very well attended and pieces sold for the most part what we expected
them to. |
